Every trip on this page is a private, full boat charter. You book the boat, not a seat. There is no shared option and no per person ticket, so the only people onboard are the ones you bring. Up to 6 guests, run by Holoholo Kai Charters out of Kawaihae Harbor, about 25 to 30 minutes north of Kona. Most Kona boat tours load 40 strangers onto a catamaran. Yours carries six, and your captain builds the day around your group, whether that is snorkeling, whale watching, sunset cruising or deep sea fishing along the north west coastline of the Big Island.

From mid December through the end of March, humpback whales fill the water off Kawaihae, and you'll be watching them from a private charter with five people you actually like, not fifty you don't. We cruise inside a Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary and drop an onboard hydrophone so you can hear the whale song live.
